Our Impact
Marta came to the U.S. from El Salvador when she was only 16 years old. She had been neglected and abandoned by her father and sought refuge with a relative in DC. We obtained special protection for Marta, and then she got her green card. Once she received this legal status, Marta asked, “Does this mean I can visit my mother?” The pair had been separated for more than six years.
